Conrad Lee is an American by choice.  Born in China, Conrad and his widowed mother left China to seek a better life in the United States. As an immigrant, Conrad embraced his new country with a love and enthusiasm that has only grown through the intervening years.  First earning his bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering from the University of Michigan in 1962. After moving to Bellevue, Washington, Conrad pursued and completed his MBA in Business Administration at the University of Washington in 1980.  As a small business owner and Bellevue City Council member, Conrad Lee has overcome barriers and challenges to succeed in business and public service.

Conrad and his wife of over 43 years, Winnie, settled in Bellevue, Washington in 1967.  They raised their son, Chris, and daughter Jennie, in the public schools in Bellevue. Conrad knows first hand what the American Dream means, and has brought these virtues to the city of Bellevue.  Since 1994, Conrad Lee has served as a city council member for Bellevue; the city has since expanded in size and in greatness.  Today, 94% of Bellevue residents said that Bellevue was a good to excellent place to live. Conrad Lee was the first Asian American to serve as a council member in City of Bellevue. As a city council member, Conrad has 16 years of continuous commitment, unfaltering dedication to service, and 42 years living in City of Bellevue. Conrad has a proven track record that has helped shaped Bellevue into the great city that it is today! While on the city council, Conrad has been responsible for formulating long-term vision, implementing fiscal discipline, supervising the execution process — all which has guided the sustainable growth of Bellevue. The city of Bellevue consists of a business downtown and small-town feeling with woodsy neighborhood and vast network of green spaces and recreational facilities.   Bellevue has a vibrant culture that is a result of Bellevue’s diverse citizenship.  As a city council member, Conrad has been the single most consistent voice against new taxes.  Conrad’s philosophy as a city council member has been “spend what we have, not what we can tax”.  Conrad feels that just like every household, now more than ever, that the Bellevue city council needs to live within its means and provide the highest quality of life possible.  Find out more about the issues.
