The people of Bellevue come from all different countries and backgrounds, and that is part of what makes Bellevue a great place to live. Mayor Conrad Lee continues to support this melting pot of cultures through his support of the Bellevue Sister Cities Association.
Bellevue currently has four sister cities: Kladno, Czech Republic; Liepaja, Latvia; Yao, Japan; and Hualien, Taiwan. Recently, in commemoration of a 30-year relationship, Hualien has given two 3,600 pound marble Fu Dogs installed outside Bellevue City Hall.
There will be a dedication ceremony on July 29th from 11 am to 2 pm at the City Hall Plaza to celebrate the recent installation. Government and business officials from Hualien will be present, and Mayor Lee encourages everyone to attend!
