Bellevue’s Newest Neighborhood Match Program has come out, which means that every citizen in Bellevue has an opportunity to:

Enhance and beautify Bellevue’s neighborhoods
Encourage participation
Foster a sense of community and neighborhood pride

This program provides funding for small scale neighborhood improvement projects, and the City is willing to provide up to $10,000 for each project. The community must also match every donation made by the city. This is an amazing gateway to connect our community and work together to build a beautiful Bellevue at every chance we’re given!

Mayor Lee Invites Community to Fu Dog Dedication Ceremony

The people of Bellevue come from all different countries and backgrounds, and that is part of what makes Bellevue a great place to live. Mayor Conrad Lee continues to support this melting pot of cultures through his support of the Bellevue Sister Cities Association.

Bellevue currently has four sister cities: Kladno, Czech Republic; Liepaja, Latvia; Yao, Japan; and Hualien, Taiwan. Recently, in commemoration of a 30-year relationship, Hualien has given two 3,600 pound marble Fu Dogs installed outside Bellevue City Hall.

Last Wednesday, Mayor Lee gave an inspirational speech to local youth at the Community Leadership Awards ceremony. This annual event, hosted by Bellevue’s Youth Link, celebrates students who are making a difference in the community. Winners for awards such as “Most Inspirational” and “Diversity Champion” were selected from over 200 nominations by teachers, mentors, and peers.
