Mayor Lee through the Eyes of a Student

As one of Mayor Lee’s student interns, I had the fortune of being able to attend his campaign kickoff breakfast from start to finish this past Tuesday. As a high school student, I know that it is typically very difficult for young people to have an opportunity to witness such high profile political events firsthand. I feel that my friend Scott, who sat beside me at the breakfast, summed the experience up quite nicely. “I have never been in a room with so many big …

Mayor Lee’s Letter to Bellevue Residents

Dear Neighbors,

You may have seen the hundreds of yard signs popping up this month with the names of candidates for the City Council, School Board, and other important positions in our local government. However, the election this November is about more than just any specific candidate. Instead, it is about keeping Bellevue on the right track.

The Race Is On! I Have Filed for Re-Election!

The race is on! Earlier this week, I officially filed with King County Elections as a candidate for Bellevue City Council Position 2.

As Mayor, I have been moving the City forward to position itself for the future.

During the last four years, the City …

Mayor Conrad Lee was among hundreds of world leaders who attended the Boao Forum for Asia (BFA) from April 6 to 8 in Hainan, China, an assembly equivalent to the World Economic Forum in Davos.

BFA, now in its 13th year was attended by such figures as Bill Gates, Bob Hawke, former Prime Minister of Australia, and Admiral Bill Owens. Lee has long encouraged business relations between China and Washington state.

“He always tries promoting Bellevue in the world,” said …

Mayor Gives Inspirational Speech to Interlake Students

Mayor Lee visited Interlake High School on Monday, March 25, to deliver an inspirational speech to seniors in the internship class, a few of whom are currently working with him. His speech focused on encouraging young people to make a difference in the world by working to change the rules within the laws, instead of simply “playing the game.” Also part of the visit was a Q&A session in which Mayor Lee answered questions ranging from what his favorite department of the city was to what …

Mayor Lee: Thoughts on Eastside Immigration

Excerpts from Mayor Lee’s interview with Michelle Tolfa of Seattle Magazine for a future feature article on immigration on the Eastside:

I was born in China, raised in Hong Kong, came to the States in 1958, graduated with a B.S. in engineering from University of Michigan in 1962, and came to Seattle to work for Boeing. I was elected to Bellevue City Council in 1994 and Mayor in 2012.

Would you say that the quality of schools and education in Bellevue is a large part of …
