What Makes Bellevue Great?
Friends,
What makes Bellevue great?…..You! It is neighborhoods coming together to create a safe place to live, it is our communities rallying around one another to voice their concerns, and, it is every individual that makes Bellevue a special place to call home. Ensuring Bellevue is a great place to live, work, and raise family is not easy and it takes hard work. I have worked hard and conscientiously for the past 16 years, expanding on the freedoms and financial well-being our city enjoys to create an even better future for our children.

Serving my community, Bellevue, and its citizens has been the most rewarding experience of my life. I can’t wait to get up every morning knowing that I have the opportunity to help solve the city’s problems and build it’s future. There is no question that I am just as motivated to serve you today as when I first ran. Bellevue is fortunate to have done the right things, allowing us to enjoy the city as it is today. In a City of Bellevue Annual Performance Report published early this year, 94 percent of residents said the city is an excellent or good place to live, 85 percent said they believe they are getting their money’s worth with city services, and 79 percent of residents said they think the city is headed in the right direction. You can view the full report here.

I am proud of my role in our citizen’s high level of engagement. As your elected Councilmember for the past 16 years, I have led the way in changing how our city approaches issues residents value most. Good policy is not always popular. I listen to my conscience, and to you – my friends and neighbors – to ensure Bellevue continues to be a safe and quality community.

As I continue to doorbell and interact with residents, the overall feeling is that Bellevue is doing great despite a lousy economy. We are working hard on the budget to move forward and come out stronger than before. At the same time, my opponent has been unfairly attacking my level of engagement and effectiveness, saying I have been on the council for too long. The fact is I am working hard representing you. I take my responsibilities seriously. I am alway there when it counts, voting on every issue that matters to protect your hard earned dollar. Property taxes are lower than most neighboring cities – without sacrificing services! I have always taken pride in the fact I am a leader who listens above all else, and as I continue to be your elected voice, neighborhood participation and engagement will always be my passion. It is difficult to combat lies and innuendos – make sure you find out the facts as I continue to take the high road, letting my record speak for itself.
The campaign trail continues to make excellent progress and I am thrilled with the amount of support and generosity. Yard signs have gone up and door belling houses continues around Bellevue with help from fantastic volunteers and supporters. Their help is greatly appreciated! However, we cannot take this election for granted, and the first step to victory is making sure you are registered to vote. You can find voter information, including voting requirements, registration deadlines, and registration forms by visiting our voter information page. Remember, this is an all vote by mail election – Vote for experience, Vote for reliable leadership, and Vote Conrad Lee for Bellevue City Council!
